Universitas Pasundan (Unpas) established since November 14, 1960, was established by the Society of Pasundan (1913). At the age of 50 years ahead, Unpas has grown and developed into a leading university and community pride, as evidenced from the number of students who are currently the largest in Region IV Jabar Kopertis environment and Banten.
Unpas students not only come from 33 provinces in Indonesia, but also from a foreign student friendly countries like Thailand, Turkey, Malaysia, Sinapura, Somali Republic, South Korea, East Timor, Poland, Hungary and South Africa. Until now Pasundan University has six faculties, 26 study program S1, 5 and 2 Graduate Studies Program Doctoral Program.
Number of Students who is a form of trust from the public. It was evident from a survey of Tempo magazine in 2005 and Compass 2006 Pasundan University entrance in three major universities in Bandung.
Later in the year 2007 by SWA magazine conducted a survey and stated that the University Pasunadn included in the four best universities accreditation as Java and the 25th most favorite universities as Java.
The academic activities carried out by experienced faculty consisting of professors still 32 people, permanent lecturers with doctorate qualifications as many as 85 people and as many as 254 persons and for Masters 8 people Foreign Lecturers from South Korea and China. In the year 2009 UNPAS into one of three private universities throughout Indonesia that received grants for the promotion of higher education through the QS Star International level.

Progress in the field of academic management was marked by obtaining accreditation status by occupying 16 of the PTN / PTS throughout Indonesia and in West Java, two major private universities occupy the position. While the number of students and professors, most Unpas is a West Java and Banten Kopertis. In accordance with the demands, since the 1999/2000 academic year opened the Graduate Master of Science in Administration with concentration in Public Policy and Business Policy, in the academic year 2000/2001 in the open also for Master of Management (MM) with the concentration in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management, 2001/2002 academic year opened on the Master program Industrial Engineering and Management with a concentration of Logistics Systems and Industrial Management, and in the 2003/2004 academic year opened the program of Master of Laws and Master of Food Technology, the graduate program while still in the process of assessment is the Director General of Higher Education Program S-3 Social Studies, Science and Engineering Economics.
To carry out three responsibilities of Higher Education as a whole and integrated, then in 1978 established the Institute on Community Research and Service (LAPPMA). Then, to conform with new legislation, then in 1987 it was split into two institutions Research Institute (Research Center), the Public Service Institute (LPM). Further in the same time also established the Institute of Culture (Lembud), which has a fundamental duty to preserve and develop the Sundanese culture; Syi'ar Institute of Islamic Studies and Development (LPPSI), has the task to develop the Islamic syi'ar. In 2000 LPPSI and Lembud combined into Sunda and Culture Institute of Islamic Studies (LBSPI). To improve services and focus on the field, then in 2003 LBSPI broken back into the Institute of Islamic Studies and Development Syi'ar (LPPSI) Cultural Institutions and Sunda (LBS).
To support the implementation of academic programs, has established cooperative relationships with several government and private institutions, and universities within and outside the country, including: the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Home Affairs, National Defense Institute, SOE, Kadin Jabar , Government of West Java Province and several Government City / County in the Province of West Java and Banten. Meanwhile, foreign universities are: University of Bonn, University of Forzeim, Karlsruhe University (Germany), Curtin University (Australia) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and PTN in Bandung (ITB, Padjadjaran University, UPI), for the arts established cooperation with ISI Yogyakartadan IKJ Jakarta. Besides, the relationship had been established well with several universities in France, Belgium, Thailand, Malaysia, Germany and Japan, where some lecturers Unpas Study completed S-2 and S-3.
